BAWeRIA’s goal is to integrate all core production processes, from the molten aluminium to the finished drawn wire, into one production line.

The pilot plant technology is characterized by following features:

• Fexibility: flexible alloy design and development​
• Rapidness: short lead time for new alloys​
• Efficiency: highly cost-effectiveness compared to “state-of-the-art”
• Scalability: can be used for everything from small trial lots to production quantities

The abbreviation BAWeRIA stands for Bavarian-Austrian advanced Welding wire Research and Innovation Action. BAWeRIA is a cross-border project partnership to set new standards in the production of welding wires.

Through the cooperation of the project partners, a new, highly-flexible global standard in welding wire development and production has been established. The BAWeRIA project is supported and co-funded by the Interreg programme Austria – Bavaria 2014-2020.
